Am I being haunted? Most of our clients call us with that specific question in mind.
If you are unsure if you should be calling us, ask yourself the following questions. If you have answered yes to one or more of them (after making sure that they cannot be attributed to anything else) - please fill out a the form on the contact page of this website.
Unexplained noises:
Are you hearing footsteps, knocking, banging, rapping, scratching sounds, or sounds of things being dropped that you cannot explain? (Do you have any issues with the pipes or floors in your home?
Doors/Cupboards/Cabinets:
Are the doors, cupboards, or cabinets in your home opening and closing on their own? (Check the hinges on these to make sure that they are not uneven or loose.)
Light fixtures:
Are the lights in your house going on and off on their own? (Make sure you check to see if this is a circuit breaker/wiring/electricity problem.)
Items being moved or disappearing:
Are items in your home (ex. Keys) moving around your home or disappearing seemingly on their own? (Do you have kids or pets that could be responsible for this?
Unexplained shadows:
The light – or absence there of – can play a multitude of ticks on your eyes. That being said, have you seen any unexplained shadows moving around in your home? Are there shadows that, based on the position of lighting, should not be there? Take moonlight coming through windows into consideration.
Strange animal behavior:
It is widely thought that animals are far more in tune with paranormal activity than human beings. Have your animals been behaving in ways that they had not previously
The feeling of being watched:
Have you ever had the hair on the back of your arms, and neck stand up on end? Those are our bodies telling us that something might not be quite right, and can be seen as a 6th sense warning system. Before attributing these reactions to the paranormal, make sure that there are no environmental explanations, example, standing under an air-conditioning vent will often illicit the same reaction.
Mild psychokinetic activity:
Hearing something like a door opening and closing on its own is one thing, but seeing it happen is a completely different story. Do your lights turn on and off on their own? Likewise does your radio, or TV behave strangely? Do your child’s toys start up on their own? These can all be signs of a potential haunting, but before you attribute these situations to a ghostly presence, make sure that there are no other factors making this happen. Faulty wiring, or wind through an open window can also cause these things to happen.
Hot or cold spots:
Cold spots are classic haunting symptoms; any instance of a noticeable variance in temperature without a discernible cause could be evidence. Are there and vents, or drafts coming in from the outside?
Physical assault:
Scratches, slaps and hard shoves. This kind of personal assault is extremely rare, but obviously highly disturbing.
